The Accountant will:
- Be responsible for the monthly closing of Ba&sh subsidiaries in Canada and the US
- Be responsible for accounting for the subsidiaries and ensuring that the financial flows are accurate
- Act as a liaison between the HQ Finance team and Ba&sh’s accounting partners in the US and Canada
Accounting
- Coordinate the preparation of monthly closings to ensure deadlines are met
- Provide all necessary documents and information to accounting partners for monthly closings (sales, inventory, vendor invoices, employees expenses, rents and commissions)
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system and make sure invoices are properly coded
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable of the subsidiary
- Ensures accounts payable invoices and expense claims are accurate, properly coded and authorized for payment
- Expense reports
- Intercompany invoices
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
- Reconciliation of retail payments
- Tag and monitor fixed assets
- Prepare monthly accrual process
Reporting
- Balance sheet and P&L monthly analysis
- Review closing results against budget, follow up on variances, and alert on potential overspending

- 1-2 years of experience in bookkeeping / accounting role
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a multicultural and cross functional team environment
- Knowledge of French is a plus
- Knowledge of bookkeeping software (Quickbooks) is a plus
